As Senior Editor, Dance/Electronic, Matt Medved leads Billboard’s dance/electronic music coverage, founding online vertical Billboard Dance in May 2015, and regularly contributing to the magazine.
He has represented the publication as a speaker at Harvard Business School, Winter Music Conference, EDMbiz, Amsterdam Dance Event, Canadian Music Week, International Music Summit Engage, and the International Music Festival Conference, and has been interviewed as a guest expert by Entertainment Tonight’s The Insider, Grammy Pro, AOL Build, the Los Angeles Times, the Orlando Sentinel, TV Guide Magazine and more.
Medved holds law and master’s degrees from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. Before Billboard, he conducted human rights field research and wrote nearly $2 million in funded grants to the US Department of State and USAID as a consultant for conflict resolution NGO Search for Common Ground in Nigeria—where he also reached more than 6 million listeners as a resident DJ at Africa’s largest radio station, Rhythm 93.7 FM. He presently DJs and produces as Sicarii, performing from Billboard Hot 100 Festival to Burning Man and signing releases to Interscope and Downtown Records.
